Director - Supply Chain Pricing & Strategy


Department: Supply Chain Pricing & Strategy
Reports To: SVP Supply Chain Pricing & Strategy
Supervises: Pricing Analysts
FLSA Status: Exempt; Administrative


Education: Bachelors or better, in a quantitative field of study (Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Mining, etc.) MBA is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years PBM or relevant experience. Relevant experience in rebates and PBM Pricing is highly preferred.


  1. Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
  2. Must have high proficiency in Excel
  3. Strongly Preferred Skills: Exposure to SQL, PowerPoint, Access is a plus. Exposure to other programming languages is a plus
  4. Health care experience is a plus
  5. Experience leading and managing critical strategic projects
  6. Experience managing pricing processes that involve cross-functional partners
  7. Experience working with various levels of the organization including leadership, peers, and junior team members
  8. Experience developing financial models
  9. Experience performing competitive analysis to understand market position
  10. Experience supporting business decisions with business cases presentations
  11. Expertise building models in Excel and other platforms
  12. Experience developing presentations to present business cases to senior executives
  13. Experience with statistical and/or predictive analysis
  14. Experience working with multiple data sources
  15. Must be a self starter


The Director – Supply Chain Pricing & Strategy will join the Supply Chain Pricing & Strategy team and provide strategic pricing input for renewals, new sales and formulary recommendations.

  • Proven ability to interpret and manage contracting legal language and terms
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and mentor a team of direct reports
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into business impacts and actionable next steps
  • Able to effectively manage competing priorities with strong sense of urgency
  • Able to effectively shift priorities of reports to solve immediate business issues
  • Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department
  • Comply with Gateway’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Gateway’s Compliance Program
  • Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists
  • Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Ensure staff is informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner
  • Hire and train competent staff
  • On a biweekly basis, verify departmental timesheets for departmental employees ensuring the timesheets are accurate based on the work-schedule and necessary corrections are done prior to timely Payroll submission
  • Develop and mentor departmental staff by providing career coaching; motivate departmental staff, individually and as a group; understand and support diversity; and establish an effective team
  • Conduct initial and annual performance evaluations
  • Promote teamwork; discipline staff when warranted
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established policies
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
